The Challenge
Nussbaum Matzingen AG faced a classic yet critical challenge: the company had grown, but its sales management processes had not. There was no central CRM system.
- Data Chaos: Customer information, leads, and opportunities were scattered across countless Excel spreadsheets, Outlook folders, and the SAP ECC system.
- Lack of Transparency: Management had no reliable, real-time view of the sales pipeline, opportunities, or the sales team’s activities. Strategic steering was nearly impossible.
- Inefficient Sales Team: The field sales force spent more time searching for information and on manual data entry than on actual selling. Visit planning and deal management were cumbersome.
- No Unified Processes: Without a central system, there were no standardized workflows for lead and opportunity management.

The Solution
We set up an agile “fast-track” project that delivered a comprehensive solution in just five months — despite the summer break — and went far beyond a standard implementation.
- Central Foundation: We implemented SAP Sales Cloud V2 as the central “single source of truth” and migrated data from all isolated sources.
- Custom BTP Applications: To maximize efficiency, we developed several custom applications on the SAP BTP (CAP/Cloud Foundry):
- Our CTI solution Spadoom Engage, built as a custom app, which recognizes incoming calls and immediately displays the relevant customer data to the user.
- An AI Lead Service that automatically analyzes incoming emails and converts them into qualified leads.
- A SharePoint Integration for seamless document management.
- Deep ECC Integration: We connected the existing on-premise SAP ECC system via the SAP Integration Suite. This included handling the necessary configuration on the ECC side to ensure smooth communication.
- Comprehensive Training: A key part of the success was the intensive training of employees to ensure high user adoption and efficient use from day one.
